Exploding Dots
Enrichment Course
Dr. James Tanton and members of the Global Math Project present a series of lessons on GMP’s favorite topic, Exploding Dots.
We offer a series of 6 lessons for Grades 4 and up, or 8 lessons for high school, for U.S. schools receiving Title I support.
See and experience what millions across the globe regularly call “mind blowing.” It’s the stunning story of place-value presented in astonishing and far-reaching new light. For students seeking enrichment or additional practice with arithmetic and algebra.
Virtual Math Festivals
MathCommunities.org is partnering with Title I schools to host free school-wide Virtual Math Festivals!
Especially designed for 2nd to 8th grade students and their families, our Festivals feature the opportunity for students to explore math through fun and engaging games and puzzles.
Festivals are hosted through Zoom using breakout rooms. Each room is facilitated by a professional math educator or trained volunteer using interactive online activity tools.
For each Festival, MathCommunities.org will provide facilitators, activities, and games. We can also arrange for a training event, so that teachers from your school can participate as activity facilitators. Spanish-language activities and facilitation are available upon request.
Please fill out the form below to request your visit. We’ll get back to you within 3 business days. Note that school administrator approval is required prior to scheduling a Festival.
